Life always has surprises in store...

Just follow your heart and listen to what it says.....

I always had an inclination to teaching since I was a child, but somehow got banking as my career after I finished my Masters in Business Administration. I would teach and help everyone around me and would constantly be around books, reading and writing. I continued my banking career for almost five years in two different cities, Vadodara and Kolkata and then consciously took a break as I was not personally enjoying my work.

Then I was into coaching students while I was still in Kolkata. Then I moved to Mumbai before two years and was completely into household responsibilities fulltime with no time to even think of a career option. Then, suddenly the transfer to Gurgaon happened with my husband being posted here. I moved to this city and was kinda lost adjusting to the new city and new atmosphere. I was feeling left out not adding value to my life and not pursuing anything that interested me. Slowly, I was getting depressed thinking about what life has instore for me, my personal life was no better with constant fights, arguments and discussions with my better half adding to lot of negativity and no peace in the house.

Then two months back, my sister, confidante and my best friend happened to visit me. She has been a constant source of inspiration for me always and I have always looked up to her for everything. She is four years nine months younger to me but with the maturity that I was always in awe of. She is the mother of an eighteen month old cute bonny boy, a design and technology lecturer at a college in Bangalore and an independent, free spirited, fun loving girl who always has my back. So we were discussing about our lives recently, when she firmly told that I should take up something that interests me and must pursue that to keep me engaged and work in a project that I can look forward to doing daily.

And then we updated the resume together, she was really wanting me to get through into teaching, a passion that was always mine but I never explored. And then I began applying at various schools but was bit worried if I could get through without any educational qualification required for teaching or experience. But then as they say everything falls into place if you put the heart and soul into something, I got recruited as an NIOS academic facilitator/teacher at an institution. I was thrilled as what mattered was how comfortable I was teaching and the passion that I had and not the degrees.

Its been more than a month in this institution and I am absolutely loving it. Every morning, I look forward  to happily meet my students and make their lives brighter....
